For families
What are your fees, and can I get a subsidy?+
Fees are set by each home daycare provider and depend on your child's age and the schedule you need, so we confirm exact rates in writing before you enrol. Families in Durham Region may also qualify for the regional child care fee subsidy through Durham Region Children's Services — contact us and we'll point you to the application and explain how it works with your placement.
Which areas do you serve?+
Our office is in Whitby, Ontario, and we work with providers across the surrounding Durham Region communities — including Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering, Brooklin, Courtice, and Bowmanville. If your neighbourhood isn't listed, get in touch; our network keeps growing.
How does enrolment work?+
Send a childcare request telling us your child's age, preferred start date, and schedule. We review your needs, route your inquiry to suitable providers nearby, and help arrange a visit. Once you and the provider agree it's a good fit, we help with the enrolment paperwork and confirm your start date.
What happens if there's no space right now?+
We add you to the wait list for the areas and age group you need, in the order requests are received, and keep your preferred start date on file. When a matching space opens we contact you right away — and we let you know if your timeline looks unlikely so you can keep other options open.
What age groups do you care for, and what are the hours?+
Providers in our network care for infants (0–18 months), toddlers (18–30 months), preschoolers (2.5–4 years), and school-age children (4+). Daily hours are set by each provider; most offer weekday care covering typical working hours, with before- and after-school options. Our office is open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
What safety checks are in place?+
Every provider we work with completes police vetting including a vulnerable sector check, holds current first aid and CPR certification, provides references, and passes a home safety review before caring for children. Care is delivered within the requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act.

What do I need to become a home daycare provider?+
You'll need a safe, clean home with space to play, rest, and eat; genuine experience caring for children; police vetting with a vulnerable sector check; current first aid and CPR certification; references; and reliable, consistent availability. We walk you through each requirement after you apply.
How long does the application process take?+
It depends on how quickly documents and checks come together. After you apply, our team contacts you within two business days to review your situation and give you a realistic timeline for your own circumstances.
What support do I get once I'm open?+
We help with your provider profile, route suitable family inquiries to you, support enrolment paperwork, and stay available for day-to-day questions about routines, records, and requirements.
